Secret Garden
Secret Garden
This unique keepsake box is made primarily of Paduak and Ash. The “picture” on the lid was created using an amazing technique known as marquetry. Marquetry is the art of creating pictures using different species (and therefore colors) of wood that are carefully cut to fit precisely together. Hot sand is sometimes used to burn these pieces to create shaded areas of the picture. There are over 96 separate pieces of wood in the “picture” utilizing many different species from around the world, including African Ebony, Wenge, Bubinga, Holly, Chakte Kok, Spanish Cedar and others.
